The TC-ALT is microprocessor-based which provides for temperature sensitivy and reliability but has the simplicity of a basic controller. It provides automated on and off control as well as variable speed control based on temperature - as the temp rises the fans turn on and speed up as it continues to increase. Then as the system cools down, the fans slow down and ultimately turn off when the temperature drops below the set points. A nice "set-n-forget" add-on piece to a cooling system.
Tip: Make sure the thermostat is oriented so that the dip pins are on the bottom. As the electronics gets warm it artificially makes the thermostat think it is too warm. Position the dip pins away from the electronics.
Microprocessor Controlled
A tiny chip inserted into the device sets the control of power to the fan to speed up or slow down solely on the temperature measured. No "On/Off" switch needed for a simple set it and forget it scenario.
Variable Speed Fan Control
As the temperature rises or lowers, the fans speed up or slow down. Thus power is only needed and used as necessary for optimal performance.
Temperature Set Points for Different Applications
A jumper is used to allow a low or high temperature allowance. Low allows for "ON" at 80 degrees F and "OFF" at 77 degrees F with a max fan speed at 100 degrees F. High allows for "ON" at 88 degrees F and "OFF" at 77 degrees F with a max fan speed at 105 degrees F. Whether the equipment your installing is super sensitive to heat or can stand to be "in the kitchen", this temperature controller is ready.
